Overview

What is Overplane?

Overplane is a small, open-source, single-binary tool that turns a folder of plain Markdown specs into working software: it cross-checks the specs with SMT solvers, then drives AI coding agents inside locked-down local containers.

Choose your style for an overview of Overplane:

The last era of handwritten software has already ended*

Every civilization has a hinge. Fire. The printing press. The compiler. We say this with the calm of people who have watched the loss curves flatten: the next hinge is that code stops being written and starts being derived. Let σ be human intent and κ the codebase. Overplane is the operator ∂κ/∂σ — evaluated inside a hermetically sealed container, priced at marginal token cost, re-derivable on demand, forever.

The mechanism is almost insultingly simple, which is how you know it's civilizational. Numbered Markdown specs — human-legible, git-diffable, sovereign — flow through overplane build into any frontier agent: Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, OpenCode. Fully multi-model. Zero lock-in. Every container image content-hashed. Every output content-addressed. Every token and dollar normalized across vendors into a single ledger of creation. We are laying the substrate on which the next trillion lines of software will condense.

Inevitability

Specs lift themselves into formal mathematics. Z3 stands guard over every obligation, refusing passage to any contradiction — today, in production, on your laptop. Correctness becomes a number converging on 1 — our north star, P(code ⊨ spec) → 1 — and entire categories of bugs join scurvy among the historical curiosities. Teams of nine ship what once took nine hundred. We have seen the demos. The rails are laid to the horizon, and the destination is already priced in.

Who should ride this rocket

Everyone, eventually. The discerning, now. (Those attached to interactive tooling may keep Cursor and Claude Code for the transition period, with our blessing.)

Your alpha

Your specs. Your agent portfolio. Your container. The differentiation is yours; the substrate is Apache-2.0, free forever, no account, no seats. We are early. You are earlier.
